What is Aikido?

Aikido is a martial art that emphasizes the concept of blending with your partner’s energy to achieve peaceful conflict resolution. It encompasses flowing full body movements combined with breath techniques. The practice embodies the centering of one’s mind, body and spirit to develop inner peace.

About Aikido Newmarket

Aikido Newmarket is affiliated with Naka Ima Aikikai in Toronto, under the guidance of Sensei Greg Angus. We are located within Brad Jones dojo, considered one of the most beautiful martial art facilities in the world, for well over fifteen years. The classes are held within the Tatami dojo with cushioned flooring. Our focus is on cultivating the mind, body and spirit in a safe, friendly and fun environment.

Aikido Newmarket is conveniently located in historic downtown Newmarket within the beautiful Brad Jones Karate Dojo. Aikido classes are held every:

  • Wednesday 7:00 – 8:30 pm
  • Friday 7:00 – 8:30 pm
  • Sunday 11:00 am – 12:30 pm

Everyone 12 years old and up are welcome to visit and either observe or join us for a free trial class.
